“Thou gavest Me no kiss” (Luke:7:45)

Can the Lord say this to us, who profess to love Him? “But Lord,” we remonstrate, “behold how we serve Thee!” “No kiss,” is His sad reply. “Lord, see how we sacrifice for Thee.” “No kiss.” Oh! How sadly possible to be externally correct, positionally accurate, morally blameless before men, busily serving, yet not give to the Lord that for which His heart longs--the token of personal love. Worship means “to kiss towards.” No service, no success, no sacrifice can make up for this. “No kiss.”
