Nuggets from "Whatever Happened to Heaven?" by Dave Hunt

"Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar...If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever....If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth, then will I cast away the seed of Jacob..." (Jeremiah:31:35-36; 33:25-26).

Did the sun rise this morning and cross the sky? Did the moon and stars still shine last night? Will the sun rise again tomorrow? If so, then Israel has not ceased from being that special nation to whom God has given specific promises (which pertain alone to her and to her promised land and not to the church)—definite promises concerning the future that have not yet been fulfilled but that surely will be. If this is not the case, then the God of the Bible has lost all credibility.
