Not only images of the saints and their tombs are seen as points of special power, but especially their relics: a mummified finger, a lock of hair, a bone, a bottle of alleged tears, or some other item. Such relics are on display in Catholic [1] and orthodox cathedrals and shrines all over the world. “Miracles” are attributed to these objects just as they are to the similar objects venerated in voodoo and other pagan religions.
