In his latest book, Worldwide Laws of Life, John Marks Templeton (of the Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion) reiterates his dream of a “new Renaissance in human knowledge” through “the scientific exploration of spiritual subjects. ... I hold a vision of the establishment of a new branch of science [1]: the science [1] of spiritual information and research.” This, as we have seen, is precisely what occultism is: religious science [1]. Occultism purports to utilize a spiritual power that works by certain laws, making it possible to elicit a predictable response from the spirit world.
