Charismatics’ desire to receive extrabiblical revelations opens the door to the occult. Pat Robertson had a “word from the Lord” that he was to run for President of the United States in 1988. When questioned about this “revelation,” here was his shocking response:

Bob Slosser: “If God called you to run, then why did you fail to get the Republican presidential nomination?”

Pat Robertson: “I suppose we could ask the same of Jesus. God sent Him to be the Messiah of Israel [1] and King of Israel [1]; why did He fail the first time around and get crucified?”
