The April 2, 1995, cover story of the Pentecostal Evangel (official magazine of the Assemblies of God) was titled “This City Belongs to God.” The caption for the photo (of five pastors) read: “Detroit Pastors Stake Claim to Their city.” Praise God that churches are stirred to bring the gospel to Detroit, but that city won’t belong to God until Christ’s millennial reign. To think otherwise is to be deceived.
