The New Atheists demand that religion should not be tolerated (except, of course, their own godless religion), especially its “colonization of the brains of innocent tykes.” According to Dawkins, “It’s one thing to say people should be free to believe whatever they like, but should they be free to impose their beliefs on their children? Is there something to be said for society stepping in? What about bringing up children to believe manifest falsehoods?” By their definition of truth and falsehood, of course. This is dangerous totalitarian talk that makes one fear for parents and children alike.
