How does he know this? It’s a fantasy tale that he as an atheist hopes might be true. Feeling of Pride? Even if what Wald says were true, what basis would there be for pride on the part of humans? We had nothing to do with gathering “from the ends of the universe, over billions of years,” the materials that supposedly make up our bodies. So what is this pride about? Would it somehow generate pride to know that no personal God played any role in the mindless process of bringing us into existence? Atheists seem to take a twisted pleasure in declaring their independence from the Creator and from any purpose or meaning that He would have brought into this universe and into our lives. This sense of exhilaration is hard to understand considering the fact that it comes from embracing the religion of atheism, which says we are nothing more than the chemicals making up our bodies.
