Want to know how long it would take you to read the Bible through? First, determine your reading speed:

1. Using a stopwatch, read through the book of II John. In the KJV this book has 298 words in 13 verses. Include the words “Second John” as you begin. This rounds it to an even 300 words.

2. Divide 300 by the number of minutes it took you to read, and you have your Words Per Minute (WPM).

3. There are approximately 773,000 words in the Bible (KJV). Divide that number by your WPM, and you have just calculated how long it will take you to read the entire Bible!

Here’s an example: I read II John in 1 minute, 10 seconds. (1.17 min)

      300÷1.17=256 WPM

773,000÷256=3019 minutes or about 50 hours.
