DAILY READINGS: Deut. 31:14 to 32:14; Hosea 1; Luke:17:1-19

If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.                                                                                                                                               — John:15:7

Fruitfulness is a result of abiding in the Vine. As an abiding branch, be alert to what opportunities for fruit bearing our Father God, the husbandman, brings your way. Then ask! Ask for fruit. Ask that God’s will and work will be accomplished through you. You were chosen to “Go and bring forth fruit...that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you” (John:15:16). Therefore, abide and ask.                   —D. Pickup

Thus tho’ worn, and tried, and tempted, glorious calling, saint, is thine; Let the Lord but find thee emptied, living branch in Christ the Vine! Vessels of the world’s despising, vessels weak, and poor, and base; Bearing wealth God’s heart is prizing, glory from Christ’s blessed face.                                                                                               —Frances Bevan
