Atheists mock any belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ as folk superstition yet are not embarrassed to declare in the name of science that all the life on Earth sprang spontaneously from dead matter, even after it had been sterilized a trillion times over by a so-called Big Bang. Consider the following from George Wald:

“The reasonable view was to believe in spontaneous generation; the only alternative, to believe in a single primary act of supernatural creation. There is no third position. . . . One [must] concede that the spontaneous generation of a living organism is impossible. Yet here we are—as a result, I believe, of spontaneous generation.”
