If the Holy Spirit is in and with us to convict sinners and to teach us from the Word, then we ought to be content and live in the light of that truth. Surely God’s Word, the “sword of the Spirit” (Ephesians:6:17; Hebrews:4:12), is the means by which souls are convicted and saved. God’s Word is sufficient to perfect us if we heed it (2 Timothy:3:15-17). Could it be possible that looking for a special anointing or outpouring or revival could prevent us from living in the fullness of what God has already given us, and could even provide us with an excuse for failure to do so?
