Nuggets from "Whatever Happened to Heaven?" by Dave Hunt

Some vocations (involving work in casinos, brothels, or bars, for example) are obviously not for Christians. In general, however, Christians find themselves living and working side-by-side with the ungodly, whether as employees of private industry or government. Separation is not to be through Christians living in their own closed communities and shunning outsiders but in the midst of daily and often close contact with the world. If Christ is living in us, then we will think, live, act, and speak more and more as He would in each circumstance as we grow in wisdom and mature in our relationship to Him. The Christian life is not following a set of denominational rules but living in obedience to God's Word under the guidance and empowering of the Holy Spirit, who is continually filling us and expressing Christ through us. That we belong to Him will be obvious, and that difference will set us apart even while we show His compassion and love to the unsaved with whom we have contact.
