Palestinians To Explain Hate Speech

JPost.com, 8/14/19, “UN asks Palestinians to explain hate speech, antisemitism” [Excerpts]: The Palestinian Authority was called to task for hate speech and antisemitism in its official statements and in its textbooks during the government’s first-ever review by the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination held in Geneva on Tuesday.

“Several NGO reports pointed out antisemitic and anti-Israel prejudice and incitement to hatred, especially in the [Palestinian] media and speeches of state officials. Can the state party [the PA] provide any explanation in this regard?” asked committee member Chinsung Chung of South Korea.... Committee member Silva Albuquerque said he had been briefed by NGOs earlier...on examples of racism and antisemitism in the PA, particularly in its school books.... UN Watch’s legal adviser Dina Rovner told the committee that the PA media “perpetuates antisemitic stereotypes, such as that Jews are greedy,...baby killers, and...part of a conspiracy to control the world.” The Palestinian media also glorifies and encourages martyrdom in the fight to liberate Palestine [i.e., “eliminate Israel”]....

The UN does not recognize Palestine as a member state. Since its UN designation in 2012 as a non-member state, the PA has had the ability to sign onto treaties and conventions, such as the one on racial discrimination. It has already signed onto seven out of nine UN human rights treaties that require a review of its human rights record, as if it were a member state.

Unrepentant Abortionist

OneNewsNow.com, 8/16/19, “Unrepentant abortionist: I am a ‘baby’ killer” [Excerpts]: BBC reporter Hilary Andersson...recently interviewed LeRoy Carhart, who has done abortions for more than 30 years. He is limited to doing abortions into the second trimester in his home base in Nebraska, but travels to his clinic in Maryland where he terminates the lives of preborn children into the final trimester. In Andersson’s interview with Carhart, he indicated clearly his attitude towards the children he aborts:

Carhart: “The baby has no input in this, as far as I’m concerned.”

Andersson: “...it’s interesting that you use the term ‘baby’ because a lot of abortionists won’t use that. They’ll use the word ‘fetus’ because they don’t want to acknowledge that.”

Carhart: “I think that it is a baby....”

Andersson: “And you don’t have a problem killing…”

Carhart: “Oh, absolutely not.”

Andersson: “…a baby.”

Carhart: “I have no problem if it’s in the mother’s uterus.”

Carhart declined to answer a question about how late in a pregnancy he would commit an abortion. While most abortionists don’t admit they are killing a child, the Bible says the unborn child is a human at the point of conception—and science confirms that.

Quest For Earthly Immortality Is Misguided

IntellectualTakeout.org, 9/5/19, “Why Transhumanists’ Quest for Earthly Immortality is Misguided” [Excerpts]: For all the reports on the sordid life of Jeffrey Epstein, little has been written about his interest in transhumanism. Followers of the transhumanist movement believe humans will achieve super-longevity, and, perhaps one day, live forever. Ray Kurzweil, director of engineering at Google and the author of books predicting a coming technological “singularity,” is perhaps the most prominent transhumanist.

Followers...take an unfathomable number of nutritional supplements [that] supposedly slows the aging process, allowing time for science to...enable transhumanists to achieve immortality.

One follower put it: “As a true digital-cerebral interface comes into existence and we are able to ‘upload’ our memories and consciousness into a twin computer backup, true human immortality will follow automatically....” [But] scientists have never been able to prove the brain is the seat of consciousness. Some scientists hypothesize that consciousness is non-local, residing “in a field surrounding the brain in another dimension” [and] our “body [is] a conduit and a collaborator with consciousness.” [But] if consciousness is not located in the brain, those dreaming of endlessly downloading their essence into better bodies will never have their dreams of longevity fulfilled.
