As for the blood of Christ that saves and cleanses, His blood would not save if He had merely bled a pint or two or given transfusions to mankind- it had to be all poured out in death. And just as there is no blood left from the unresurrected flesh coursing through His resurrected body, so there is none preserved in heaven, as though it had magical qualities.

"For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
