Lack of doctrinal concern in favor of the experiential is perhaps the greatest problem within charismatic groups. A primary example would be a lack of scriptural discernment. This is perhaps best evidenced by the acceptance of the validity of the Charismatic Renewal of the Catholic Church, which Catholic leaders have claimed has enriched their participation in Catholicism, including the Sacraments and their devotion to Mary. With an exaltation of experience over the Scriptures, it is not surprising to see sound doctrine disparaged.
