DAILY READINGS: Ex. 1 to 2:22; Psalm 31; Matt:27:45-66

…When those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay; Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth…Then they took him, and slew him. Judges:12:5-6 Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. Matt:12:34

In a similar way to this story, a believer’s speech will reveal much about him. Whatever fills my heart will come out in my speech. Am I always talking about my business or politics or possibly even criticizingthe saints? If so it is not my mouth that needs attention  but my heart. I need to get back to Calvary and in brokenness make my Saviour the Lord of every part of my life. —David Croudace

Take all my will, my passion, self and pride,
I now surrender, Lord in me abide. —J. Edwin Orr
