Making Disciples | thebereancall.org

I trust you will take this seriously! First of all, we need to make disciples because Jesus commanded us to do so. Jesus emphasized the importance of this when He asked Peter; "Peter do you love me?" three times He asked Him this question and three times He told him to feed His sheep. It appears that Jesus thought that if we love Him we would demonstrate this love by feeding His sheep. When people are hungry they need to be fed and they are not particular about who feeds them. Amos:8:11 tells us, "Behold the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst of water, but of hearing the words of the LORD." That day has come and there are a great number of people saying; "We need the word of God." The commandment to go and make disciples in all nations is echoing in the empty hearts of the believers who have stopped their ears from hearing the cries of those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Jesus said; "If you love me keep my commandments."

We need to make disciples because this is the way that Jesus will build His church.
