What is the source of mankind’s universal moral understanding? The credit certainly cannot be given to Darwin. Hitchens, Darwin, and most other atheists love to repeat their mantra, “You don’t have to have a book to tell you what is right and what is wrong.” How did natural selection develop this “ghost” that supposedly haunts us with morals? One thing we do know: conscience hasn’t “changed over the decades.” In fact, it can be traced back to Moses and the Law of God that he received on Mount Sinai, and it has unquestionably come down to us intact. What do change are society’s customs and taboos, but what has not changed are the timeless moral standards that God wrote in the conscience when our first parents ate of the forbidden fruit and “became as gods, knowing good and evil.”
