Atheists have done something unconscionable. They have undermined our confidence in the laws of nature. Why? Because evolution can’t be made to work within the framework of established laws. Nobelist Harvard Professor George Wald admits that according to the law of biogenesis, spontaneous generation has been forever consigned to the trash heap of “myths once part of science.” But because that law implies that life could only begin by a supernatural act of creation, and “we atheists know that couldn’t happen,” one exception must be allowed.
