Nuggets from Occult Invasion

Today, most of the evangelical church follows Peale’s example, and Schuller’s “Hour of Power” has the largest audience of any televangelist each Sunday morning. The fact that Billy Graham has given his wholehearted endorsement of both Peale and Schuller has undoubtedly been a large factor in their growing influence. Those few pastors who still resist this occult invasion are looked down upon as lagging behind the times. In their book The Integration of Psychology and Theology, Christian psychologists John D. Carter and Bruce Narramore write:

“The typical conservative minister [is] 20 or 30 years behind his liberal colleague in being aware of the contributions of psychology to the understanding of personality.”
