What “god” grants forgiveness of sins through the magical use of some physical object and the recitation of a formula? What about justice? We’re back to voodoo again! And why would any Christian church indulge in such delusion when Christ has provided full and free pardon from sin? The whole idea of indulgences is a rejection of the biblical teaching that God grants forgiveness only on the righteous basis of the full penalty having been paid by His Son, Jesus Christ, and that forgiveness comes freely by His grace, directly from Him.
