Charisma interviewed “a panel of experts” concerning “the church’s battle against the forces of darkness.” In their answers, Scripture played a minimal role, while experience and opinion were predominant. In one of the major books on this subject, author C. Peter Wagner (one of the foremost “spiritual warfare” experts) make this revealing statement:

“One fundamental thesis will control this discussion…of us coming to grips with some of the relatively new and at times somewhat radical ideas surrounding strategic-level spiritual warfare, spiritual mapping, identificational repentance and other such issues…the thesis that ministry [experience] precedes and produces theology, not the reverse.”
