Nuggets from Occult Invasion

Late in 1995 the Toronto Vineyard was removed by John Wimber from the Fellowship of Vineyard Churches and became the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (TACF). This action has been mistakenly taken as a sign that Wimber was maturing, and rejecting some of the excesses that he once embraced. On the contrary, many Vineyard churches continue their involvement in “holy laughter.” Wimber was not opposed to the animal behavior and sounds; they have been part of the Vineyard movement from the beginning. What he objected to was the attempt on the part of the TACF leadership to justify these manifestations from the Bible, which Wimber believed was unnecessary.
