How odd that Paul, who “turned the world upside down” with the gospel (Acts:17:6), found no need for any of these procedures. He reasoned each Sabbath in the synagogues from the Scriptures (Acts:17:2,3) and was found disputing “in the market daily” and in the centers of learning such as Mars Hill (Acts:17:17-34). Within hours after his conversion, Paul “preached Christ…that he is the Son of God.” He “confounded the Jews…proving that this is very Christ” and “disputed against the Grecians….” So powerfully did Paul preach the gospel that they either had to believe or to kill him—and they chose the latter (Acts:9:20-29).
