Tragically, Jackson has never understood Christianity. He says that his mother hung John:3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

He quotes the verse correctly, then says, “From then on I started being concerned with keeping the faith so that I, too, could find eternal life.” That is not what the verse or any other says. The Bible teaches that eternal life is a gift of God’s grace that none can merit. It was not Christianity that Jackson rejected but his misconception of it.
