Jackson often prays the so-called “Lord’s Prayer” with his players. It begins, “Our Father who art in heaven….” To pray it honestly one must know God as Father by experiencing a new birth into the family of God through faith in Christ. By his own admission, Phil Jackson has rejected the Jesus Christ of the Bible, as have most of his players, so it is a contradiction for them to pray the Lord’s Prayer. It is this loose merging of Christianity with whatever spirituality one fancies that will characterize the coming world religion—and destroying Christianity.
