Experiments seemed to indicate that the human mind could influence physical matter at distances far beyond the range of any detectable emanations from the brain. In fact, from the days of Anton Mesmer it had been noted that some hypnotized subjects could “see” events occurring many miles away. There was no physical explanation. The mind had to be a nonphysical entity distinct from the brain.

Even that admission, however, failed to explain the phenomena. The human mind alone cannot account for remote viewing, and it certainly cannot be responsible for visitations from spirit entities or glimpses into the future or the ability to speak languages to which one has never been exposed. The phenomena could only be explained if the human mind was in contact with another source of information and power.
