It is sad how many people profess for years to be Christians and then denounce their “faith.” No doubt this is, at least in part, because many churches are more interested in experience and in helping people cope and feel good about themselves than in sound doctrine that would give a solid foundation for faith. Christianity has become a feeling that easily fades, as the following news item indicates:

“Mel White…dean of the 1200-member Cathedral of Hope in Dallas, the ‘world’s largest gay and lesbian congregation’…a Fuller Seminary professor for 14 years…ghostwrote books with Billy Graham, Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson and speeches for Oliver North…. He now…rejects the ‘Christian’ label and says this word ‘now stands for the enemy.’”
