Nuggets from Occult Invasion—New “Spiritual Technologies”? | thebereancall.org

We have seen the error of the “point of contact” and of physical objects of power such as fetishes, images of the saints, and holy water. The same error underlies the idea of territorial spirits and the belief that to engage in strategic praying one must go to the place of power (or pray over every seat). In their book Prayer Walking: Praying on Site with Insight, Steve Hawthorn and Graham Kendrick write, “Prayer walking is on-site prayer. On-site praying is simply praying in the very places where you expect your prayers to be answered.” Wagner states approvingly:

“The Catholic Church uses rites [rituals] of exorcism to remove demons from buildings. On the Day to Change the World in 1993, for example, YWAM and others recruited and deployed prayer journey teams that traveled to the 24 cardinal points of the world (the northernmost, southernmost, easternmost and westernmost points of six of the continents) to pray that the strongholds over the continents would be pulled down and the fullness of God’s kingdom would come.”
