Nuggets from Occult Invasion—The Occult Connection | thebereancall.org

On January 23, 1997, at 17:30 to 17:35 Greenwich Mean Time, “The Gaia Mind Project” held a “Simultaneous Global Meditation and Prayer.” The goal was, at the moment of an “archetypically appropriate planetary alignment,” to have millions of people around the world involved in “simultaneous meditation and prayer” with the intent to “advance the world of consciousness.” Once again we see evolution at the heart of the occult—and the use of visualization, the most powerful occult technique. The newsletter organizing this event declared:

“We hope that by joining together we may initiate a shift in our understanding or our relationship with Gaia…in which we recognize ourselves as the living Earth’s emergent self-reflexive consciousness. Our intention is to use this astrological mandala to identify one moment for people to join together in a resonant expression of unified global consciousness. Perhaps through the power of intentional synergy we may help catalyze the evolution of consciousness and potentiate global healing. Participation is simple. On January 23rd, meditate, pray or do whatever brings you into closer contact with the Divine for five minutes starting at the local equivalent of 17:30 GMT. Then, at 15:35 GMT, join in a minute of focused visualization. White light seems to be the most universal spiritual archetype, so we suggest envisioning white light in unison as a way to bring ourselves into resonance at the moment the astrological star pattern becomes exact in New York City…. Astrologically, this particular date represents the first of a series of exceedingly rare multiple conjunctions in the first degrees of Aquarius spanning several weeks. Archetypically, the major planets involved represent the benevolent expansion of spiritual liberation…. Your help is crucial to spread awareness of this opportunity to catalyze the transformation of global consciousness.”

Here we have all the elements of the occult which we have thus far considered: our oneness with the universe, the power of the mind, the evolution and transformation of consciousness, astrology spirituality, and liberation.

The title and descriptions of the Pre-Conference Institutes at a typical environmental conference provide further evidence that to whatever extent the ecological movement is supported by science it is science mixed with occultism:

“USING EXPRESSIVE ART TO EXPERIENCE OUR CONNECTEDNESS TO ALL LIFE FORMS

By sensing and being receptive we can listen to our inner voice and the voices of nature. As we journey inward delving into the mysteries and vitality of our own nature we connect to those energies in all life forms….

EARTH AND SPIRIT IN PUBLIC EDUCATION

[Spirituality is brought into the public classroom under the guise of dealing with environmental issues. Thus in spite of the alleged separation of church and state that prohibits any promotion of Christianity in the classroom, the old pagan religions of nature worship and indigenous spiritualities are allowed entrance.]

EARTH ALIVE: A JEWISH EXPERIENCE

Judaism is rooted in a powerful awareness of the unity of all life. Jewish practices offer daily opportunities for honoring and celebrating our relationship with the Earth. In this workshop we will explore Jewish ways of connecting with the Earth.

RE-OPENING THE CHRISTIAN MYSTERIES: PERSPECTIVES FROM THE NEW COSMOLOGY

This institute will be concerned with redefining and rethinking the main themes in Christianity…. [Again we have the greening of Christianity.]

THE SACRED SYMBOLS OF THE GODDESS

Drawing on her years of research into ancient goddess reverence…Merlin will lead this exploration into the wisdom and power of the goddess tradition. She will look at its contribution to the growing Earth-honoring spirituality, the evocation of magical powers….

DEEP TIME AND THE HEALING OF OUR WORLD

Here the concept of our planet as a living system moves to an experiential level that is intimate and empowering…[by shifting] one’s sense of identity from a small, separate selfhood, to one of interexistence with all beings.”
