[We have noted how the face of Mormonism has changed in public perception, partially due to ecumenical moves and partially due to an expensive public relations campaign. Yet, there has been no official change in Mormon doctrine, neither have Mormonism’s exclusive claims been altered.

In his extensive work on LDS doctrine, now deceased Mormon Apostle, Bruce R. McConkie, stated, "If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation. There is no salvation outside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" (Bruce R. McConkie, "Mormon Doctrine," BookCraft, SLC, Utah, 1966, page 670).
