Question: The best argument I know of to discredit Jesus is His statement, “I am the way…no man comes to the Father but by me.” There are billions of people alive now and who have lived in the past who never even heard of Christ and Christianity. And they’re all damned?

Response: There are also hundreds of millions, if not billions, who have heard the gospel of Christ and have rejected it. How do we know that those who haven’t heard would believe if they did hear? God knows who would and who would not believe, and we may be certain that He will somehow get the gospel to everyone who would embrace it.

Jesus said, “Abraham rejoiced to see my day, and he saw it and was glad” (John:8:56). Yet Abraham grew up in paganism, out of which God called him. If God could do that for Abraham, He can do it for anyone.

Romans:1:18-32 states that every person knows from the universe around him that a God of infinite power is man’s Creator, and yet the vast majority of people have rejected that revelation and indulged in idol worship and gross immorality and “are without excuse.” Romans:2:14,15 adds that every person knows in his conscience that he has violated God’s laws and is under God’s judgment. All those who, under conviction of conscience by the Holy Spirit, cry out to God in repentance for His salvation will, in one way or another, be given the gospel.
